Ubud’s reputation as a hub of art is largely due to its vibrant painting scene. The last king of Ubud successfully attracted renowned Western painters such as Walter Spies, Rudolf Bonnet, Antonio Blanco, Ari Smiths, and Hansnell to this village. These influential artists helped nurture a generation of talented local painters.

If you’re inspired by this artistic legacy and wish to try your hand at painting, we offer classes in the ‘young artist’ style with a focus on rice terrace scenes. These classes are available daily from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Foyer of our Lounge in our Ubud luxury resort. Please note that reservations are required at least one day in advance.
